25. I've Got Mail From AGLOCO

Actually this e-mail will be received by all AGLOCO members. It was sent by AGLOCO.com Service and the subject is AGLOCO Viewbar Update. Actually I just received this e-mail and setup this post as soon as possible to let my referrals and all readers know that AGLOCO Viewbar is around the corner. This is the e-mail that I just received:

Date : Mon, 30 April 2007 07:24:20 +0000
From : "AGLOCO.com Service" emailservice@agloco.com
Subject : AGLOCO Viewbar Update

Dear ANONYMOUS,

We will be releasing the AGLOCO Viewbar software soon and want to update Members on how things will work when it is released.

Each Member will get an email informing them that their Viewbar is available. It will contain detailed instructions on the download, which will be done from the
agloco.com website. Members will be invited to download in groups of 50,000 a day for a two week period, with Members contacted in the order in which they signed up.

Shortly before the first set of download emails go out, you will receive an email notice that the AGLOCO website will be ‘out of service’ for a few hours – this is necessary for us to move the Viewbar download system from the test server to the main servers.

Also, please be aware of the following:

1. AGLOCO Hours: You will accrue hours in your AGLOCO Member account (current maximum is five direct hours a month). Hours are earned during active surfing on the Internet. The Viewbar has a green light on it that notifies the Member when it is accruing time. Your referrals’ surfing will accumulate hours for you at a 25% rate, meaning if one of your referrals surfs for the maximum five hours you will get 1.25 (0.25 x 5) hours credited to your total referral hours. You can only get credit referral hours up to the amount you directly surf (meaning if you surf 3 hours but a referral surfs 4, you will only get credit for the first 3 of your referral’s 4 hours). AGLOCO accrues these hours each month and also has a cumulative total of all hours earned. These hours are what AGLOCO will use to calculate cash and other distributions. The Viewbar contains a one click inactive button which turns it off and removes it from your screen at any time.

2. Initial Release for Windows: The initial Viewbar release will be for Windows Vista, XP, 2000 Pro and 2000 Server. Later, we will release Mac and Linux versions of the Viewbar. Until that occurs, Mac/Linux users can still log onto any supported Windows computer and accumulate their five hours. The Viewbar works with browsers IE 5.5 or higher and Firefox 1.5 or higher.

3. Cash Distributions: To be a sustainable entity in the long term, AGLOCO makes Member cash distributions from its positive cash flow (revenue minus costs). Therefore, please do not expect a check after the first couple of months as it will take time to collect revenue from advertisers and this revenue must exceed costs in order to make cash distributions to Members. We will be keeping Members informed of our financials and you can visit the Official company blog at
http://blog.agloco.com for the latest updates.

4. Multiple Users on One Viewbar: As stated previously, multiple Members may use the same Viewbar on the same computer. Only one Viewbar download will be necessary as the Viewbar software will enable each Member to log in and log out using their AGLOCO Member ID# and password (obviously, only one Member ID# can be accumulating Viewbar hours at any one time). Please note, only one Viewbar is allowed on a screen at a time.

5. One-Time Download: The v1.0 Viewbar is purposely simplistic and minimalist, but it also comes equipped with an automatic self-updating feature. Once you download the Viewbar for the first time, your Viewbar will be seamlessly updated with new additions and features as they become available. These future features include the direct cash back feature when a Member purchases items on sponsor site and a portion of the purchase price is added back to the Member’s AGLOCO account (as described on the Official AGLOCO Blog at
http://blog.agloco.com/index.php/post35/ . )

We look forward to your active participation in the AGLOCO community.

Dan Jorgensen
Member Coordinator

24. Is AGLOCO A Scam?

Just Think Positive
After delayed the launching for the Viewbar, I heard a lot of discussion in the net that labelled AGLOCO is a scam. Yes, it is easy to label any prelaunch program in internet as a scam as well as AGLOCO also have problems (delaying the launching for the Viewbar).

For me, I think AGLOCO is definitely not a scam, I believed in it. The releasing of Viewbar is not as easy as ABC. Though I don't know about it, but releasing it requires a lot of work. Furthermore, AGLOCO development team need to settled up with the advertisers and the Viewbar itself.

Thing can go wrong sometimes and I'm sure this company is trying their best they could. If they delayed the release, they must have some reason either technical problem or another problem as well. If every AGLOCO members have patience, things will go right. AGLOCO is trying the best, and we should appreciate it. Not by asking "Is this a scam?", "After delaying of the Viewbar, I don't want to recruit people anymore!" or anything negative about AGLOCO.

I want to ask people 2 questions. If this is a scam, why AGLOCO's Development Team worked so hard to release the Viewbar? If this is a scam, what AGLOCO get from it? Although I'm a newcomer, I've been waiting for the Viewbar too. But I won't blame anything to this company.

Why AGLOCO Is Not Going To Fail
I found this great articles which tell us why AGLOCO is not going to fail. I think it's worth to republish it here. The title is 7 Reasons Why AGLOCO Is Not Going To Fail and I got this article from Michael H. Lewis blog.

Some people say that AGLOCO will fail because most people won't make lots of money off of it. The argument says that since it is only a small minority of people who are actively trying to build huge referral networks, only they stand to reap the benefits of AGLOCO membership; the rest won't make any money and they'll just stop using the Viewbar altogether, lowering the payout amounts, discouraging others from joining and killing the program's viability. Or maybe people will get spyware-weary and not download the Viewbar for fear of being monitored.I couldn't disagree more with these argument, for a number of reasons:

  1. It's a big world out there. Meaning that even if three-quarters of all savvy Internet users out there think that AGLOCO is a scam, the one quarter that doesn't is still going to sign up - and I bet that one quarter will be more than enough for a decent advertising audience that will definitely draw in some serious cash. It certainly would easily break AGLOCO's "10 million members by July 2007" goal.
  2. The Internet grows bigger every day - and not just in terms of new users. Every day, a few thousand people who used to use the Internet simply to check their email realize that in order to keep up, they need to use the whole Internet. So they bookmark Wikipedia, create a Facebook or Linkedin page, join an Internet forum on the topic they are interested in, maybe check out del.icio.us,... and they will also join AGLOCO once one of us shows them how the "infomediary"/"economic network" is the future of the Internet. Someone like that will install the Google toolbar... why not the AGLOCO Viewbar? It's no more invasive, and it may turn out to be just as informative. Do you know how many cookies are in your cache?
  3. Not everybody will join in order to become a millionaire. Remember that even if the average Jane or Joe has maybe 0 to 2 referrals, they still will appreciate making a small amount of money each month for doing nothing but turning on a small Viewbar that does not disrupt their Internet experience. Don't forget, if you are a savvy expert on what's hot on the web, you are in a tiny minority all over the world. Most people are grateful to learn just how to use email, and maybe perform a basic Google search now and then. They don't intend to make a career out of online moneymaking. A lot of these folks take the time to clip coupons from the Sunday paper; why wouldn't they take a few seconds to switch on the AGLOCO Viewbar? For many whose lives are 99+% offline, the concept of getting a little money just for signing up for AGLOCO is pretty nice - and it's going to be the source of a lot of money for those of us who seek them out (yes, please click there if you haven't already joined AGLOCO!).
  4. While many people will make some money, a few of us are going to make large amounts of money, given that AGLOCO gives incentives to refer others. Those of us who do make considerable amounts of money are going to post our checks on our websites and show them to our friends, and then it certainly won't be hard to bring them aboard. I intend to be one of those who makes more than a few bucks a month. Are you with me?
  5. Like any company, AGLOCO will be put to the test. Sure, any hot new startup can get a million hits and be the talk of the Internet for a week... but soon, the proof will have to come forth. AGLOCO's team knows it must provide real member satisfaction in order to succeed. As the development team's letter states: "Trust is Everything. We lose your trust, and the network fails. We work on behalf of the members and everything we do must keep that in mind. Our members know what we are doing with their data and how we are using it for their benefit." Now, if AllAdvantage is any indication, even with the mistakes the AllAdvantage team made, they basically did it right, because, in the words of that same letter, "We unfortunately had to close the business, even though new members were continuing to join the network" . What this means is that AllAdvantage's record was pretty good. Which brings me to my next point...
  6. AGLOCO has a convincing history and reputation even though it has yet to be fully launched. What this means is that many people, especially those in the know, are more likely not to suddenly abandon the AGLOCO project if something doesn't quite go as planned. If those in the know stay aboard, they of course bring others along with them. Here is what upholds AGLOCO's reputation:

7. The benefits of membership in an economic network hold great value for ordinary folks! Do you know anybody who is a member of a frequent flyer program? A credit union? A benefits or discount program through their job? AAA or CAA auto service (US and Canada)? Those folks would sign up for AGLOCO in a heartbeat even if there were no cash payouts just for surfing. Here is why, courtesy of a blog post by development team member Brian Greenwald:

The AGLOCO Viewbar software will be capable of sensing when you are making the type of purchase for which AGLOCO has a revenue sharing program (and by potentially directing you to that partner if you are not already on their site). If you make a purchase, the Viewbar will collect the commission from that purchase. Initially, this revenue may be added to the general AGLOCO revenue pool for expenses and Member distribution, but eventually a sizeable percentage for that revenue will go directly into the Member’s account. Thus, the more a Member buys, the more money will be put into his or her account in addition to regular AGLOCO income. Without the Viewbar, that commission would simply not be paid, or might go to someone else.

One of the reasons a larger AGLOCO network is important is that these retailers generally pay a higher commission percentage for networks with more Members (i.e. those who bring more customers tend to get paid more money per customer). Rates vary by retailer and by retail industry, but one thing is generally true of all of them: as AGLOCO grows, we will be able to negotiate better and better commission rates for you.

This is one way in which you (as a regular Member) make extra money, and with AGLOCO it will be automatic. It’s like your Internet purchases being made by a cash-back credit card, where the Viewbar automatically picks up when you are eligible for this cash back. So, besides having an active Viewbar on your desktop, you will not need to take any action to collect this money.

Ok, now you know why this is not going to fail. If you aren't yet a member, you know that you should be. But if you still aren't convinced, read this. And please feel free to post your comment.

19. Another Update

This update was post by Brian Greenwald on 16 April 2007 at 10.51 pm. This post can be found at AGLOCO Official Company Blog. For you information Brian Greenwald works in business development at AGLOCO. A scientist by education, he worked in marketing and development for several biotech companies before attending Stanford's Graduate School of Business.

Let me give you today’s Viewbar update. As mentioned previously, our delaying item is getting our partners’ ad servers to ‘talk’ correctly to the Viewbar. It requires programming on both their servers and our Viewbar to integrate correctly - not as simple as just signing up for Google AdSense . After that is solved the Viewbar download area will need to be transferred from our test servers to our main site to handle the volume, where we will test it again (when this occurs our main site will be down, but we will give a warning before that occurs). Until the ‘glitches’ in the ad server integration are solved I cannot give a more accurate release date than “days away”.

Your overall patience on the Viewbar release is appreciated. Trust me when I say that your desire to see it released is matched, if not exceeded, by the Shanghai tech team and all of the AGLOCO Development team.

18. 40 Reasons To Join AGLOCO

I got this '40 Reasons To Join Agloco' from Michael12345678 which the original title was 40 Reasons Why You Should Join AGLOCO. I think it's worth to reprint it here:

1. You can make money safely, legitimately, and easily.

2. It takes maybe three minutes to join.

3. You need nothing more than a working computer connected to the Internet.

4. You don't have to enter any sensitive information to join.

5. You don't have to buy anything to join.

6. You don't have to buy anything ever once you are a member.

7. It's easy to cancel if you don't want to be a member any more.

8. You'll only download a small free toolbar that won't install anything else on your computer, hog its memory, or read your keystrokes.

9. You'll make the same amount of money even if you never click on anything.

10. AGLOCO is the real deal, not some little scam. A good number of notable entrepreneurs are backing it. A Google search with keyword "agloco" will net you 1 million pages and counting.

11. Very important: AGLOCO's business model has been tried before and proven to work. In fact, AGLOCO's predecessor paid out over $120 million to its members (this is what finally convinced me).

12. You can dramatically increase your income by referring other people to AGLOCO, because...

13....AGLOCO pays you a portion of the surf money earned by those you referred up to 5 levels below you. So...

14. You can recruit your friends and all make money together when you help them get referrals. Thus,

15. The sooner you sign up, the more folks will come to you for info and the more likely it is that you will be the original seed of a large referral network in your community.

16. You never have to read emails from people you don't know.

17. You'll never be asked to send emails to people you don't know.

18. You don't have to change anything you normally do on the Internet. You surf, AGLOCO pays.

19. AGLOCO's revenue source is genuine: a Viewbar members use that shows targeted advertisements based on your surf history, with the money paid to advertise going back to the members. That's not magic; that's common sense.

20. The Viewbar software you will download will not invade your privacy; it simply looks for keywords on the pages you view in order to show related ads.

21. The Viewbar is maybe the size of your taskbar at the bottom of your screen - in other words, it's small and won't interfere with your browsing experience at all.

22. AGLOCO has a thorough privacy policy that explicitly guarantees personal information will never be sold or given away.

23. In fact, AGLOCO has not one but three agreements every member must agree to. The bases are covered.

24. AGLOCO has a CPO - Chief Privacy Officer - whose responsibility is to make sure your privacy is never violated. His name is Ray Everett-Church, and he has more experience protecting privacy than probably anyone else on the planet.

25. AGLOCO doesn't play; anybody providing fake information, signing up twice, or otherwise trying to cheat the system will be detected by AGLOCO's anti-hacking instruments. This is an honest enterprise through and through.

26. By signing up, you support the company that will change Internet advertising for the better.

27. By signing up, you get to own a piece of the company that will change Internet advertising for the better. AGLOCO belongs to its members, which is to say that...

28....you will own stock (more if you refer people) in a company that is likely to become huge and thus your stock will be worth something awesome when AGLOCO goes public on the London Stock Exchange.

29. You will likely find that other AGLOCO members, especially now in the early stages of AGLOCO, are some of the Web's savviest users and developers, and you can learn a bunch from them.

30. You get to be on the cutting edge of World Wide Webware development, which means that as AGLOCO grows, its members will benefit from...

31....discounts when members buy from companies affiliated with AGLOCO;

32....possible help with spyware/antivirus protection (remember, everyone from Fortune 500 companies to millions of users will all benefit from a better browsing experience);

33....community forums where members can meet and discuss not just stuff, but ways and member-based projects to make AGLOCO better (it is our company).

34. Our company is in good hands. AGLOCO pays 10% of its revenues to Infomediary Services Corporation (ISC), which is simply the management company that is responsible for managing AGLOCO. The other 90% of the revenue belongs to us. This 10% will attract the designing talent needed to make AGLOCO great. The corresponding 10% of AGLOCO's shares go to a foundation dedicated to providing every human being on Earth with Internet access.

35. AGLOCO's management team will not get stock in AGLOCO. This ensures that those in positions of high responsibility don't hijack the company.

36. Though circumstances will vary, you can get paid and earn shares no matter where on Earth you live.

37. If you choose, you can donate your earnings and shares to the charity of your choice.

38. If you get involved in referring more members, you might be able to quit your day job and actually spend time at home, with your family, on vacation, wherever - and still make money.

39. If AGLOCO fails, you won't lose any money because you paid none in the first place.

40. AGLOCO ain't gonna fail. The last time such an opportunity existed, people made over $120 million in under 2 years, when far less people had Internet access and conditions weren't yet right for such a company to go public. Now, with record spending on advertising and calls from all sides for less irrelevant advertising and a better business/customer connection, the world is more than ready for an economic network that gives back to its users.

15. Waiting for The Viewbar

I got another update for the viewbar from the official AGLOCO's blog.

I have just got word from our Shanghai based tech team with an update on the Viewbar status. Most of the QA tests are going well with the exception of the ad servers. The team is currently integrating the Viewbar with the ad servers so that the Viewbar will have ads (and revenue) ready to go when it launches (it would not make too much sense to release a Viewbar that was not making any money). So, while the Viewbar is still on track for release this month, making the April 2nd to 16th window is getting more difficult – and, yes, the Shanghai team has been working seven days a week for quite a while now and will continue to do so until the Viewbar is released.

There is some good Viewbar news for most of you. As I mentioned in my last post, we are initially releasing about 50,000 Viewbars to those Members that signed up first. Our current plan is to release another 50,000 Viewbars every day until every pre-launch Member has a Viewbar (which means all Members should have their Viewbar within the first 10 – 11 days). This should alleviate some of the fears Members have expressed that they might have to wait weeks or months for their Viewbar. We recognize that there have been delays on the front end of the release, so we are trying to tighten up the back end of the release as much as possible.

Also, as some Members have correctly pointed out, AGLOCO’s early revenue will not immediately translate into cash distributions to Members. While we do not know how large our initial revenue will be, we do know that AGLOCO has operating costs to pay. It is important to remember that AGLOCO is not a “get rich quick scheme”, and we maintain that the most prudent way to build AGLOCO as a sustainable company is to calibrate Member distributions to company earnings. As such, the cash payouts will not begin until there is a comfortable balance between AGLOCO’s free cash flow and AGLOCO’s expenses. It is important to add that all Members will begin to accumulate hours from when they first start using the Viewbar (and referral hours will also be earned). Those hours will not be wasted. Both overall hours and monthly hours will be used in determining distributions to Members.

I’ll keep you posted as relevant updates continue to come up.

14. Questions and Answers

1. What is AGLOCO™ all about?
AGLOCO™is the first Internet based economic network, which enables you as a Member to ‘Get your share of the internet.’ Advertisers, search companies, online merchants and other businesses currently pay lots of companies to deliver people like you to them to get your attention and sell goods. With AGLOCO™they will be paying YOU.

AGLOCO™ is also a global community of Internet users whose active Members can be paid for all their online activity. By downloading our proprietary Viewbar™ technology, members benefit from engaging yet unobtrusive content tailored to their interests. AGLOCO™ also pays its members to refer their friends to the community (and for those friends to refer more friends through four levels of extended referrals.)

2. How do I earn cash and shares?
Sign up, use the web as usual and earn cash and shares - it really is that simple. Once you install the Viewbar™ software it automatically records the time you're actively online, and we pay you for it. But the first step is to sign up and become a member. It's fast and it's free. If you refer your friends and family we'll pay you even more cash and shares.

3. How do referrals work?
AGLOCO™ pays you an hourly rate when the friends and family you recruit (called “direct referrals”) use the web with the Viewbar™ running, as well as for people your referrals recruit (called “extended referrals”). Extended referrals continue for four levels past your original referral, and there is no limit to the number of referrals you can accumulate. Check out our Referral Page for more information.

4. Do I need to buy anything?
No, AGLOCO™ Membership is absolutely free. You will never have to buy or sell anything. Simply sign up, download your free copy of the Viewbar™ software, refer your friends and family, and get your share of the Internet!

5. Is AGLOCO™ free for everyone?
Yes. AGLOCO™ is free for everyone. There are no hidden fees or premium accounts.

6. Is the AGLOCO™ referral system multi-level marketing?
No. Multi-level marketing involves Members selling products to new Members that they recruit. AGLOCO™ is basically the opposite. No Member ever pays AGLOCO™. Instead, AGLOCO™ gets money from companies (like advertisers, search companies and online merchants) and distributes cash and shares to it Members.

7. Will it be free to download the viewbar?
Yes, it is completely free to download the viewbar. Depending on the speed of your internet connection, the download time may vary from a few to several minutes.

8. Do I need to have the Viewbar up all the time?
No! Currently AGLOCO™ will reward up to five hours a month in Viewbar time. Above that limit, you can keep your Viewbar displayed or minimize it at any time, though most of the Members choose to keep it up. If you don’t want your Viewbar to operate at any specific time, just minimize it and it will stop working. However, you will not earn online hours while your Viewbar is minimized.

9. Will I be able to minimize the viewbar?
Yes! You can minimize the Viewbar any time and it will stop working. However, you will not accumulate any online hours while the Viewbar is minimized.

13. Viewbar Update

I got this update from the official AGLOCO company's blog. Maybe I'm too late to write a post about this one but at least I will keep update and tell people about this news.

Viewbar Details
April is upon us, and as we have mentioned previously on this blog, the Viewbar is slated for release this month. We will be sending an email directly to each Member when their account is authorized for Viewbar download with more detailed information regarding the software release. Here are a few initial details:

The Download Process:As we have discussed, we will be releasing the Viewbar first to Members who joined first. Currently, the plan is to have the Viewbar first be available to Members with ID#s beginning in BBBB to BBBF (as well as Members with an ID# beginning in “AGLO”). This is about 50,000 Members. We will then continue releasing the Viewbar to more and more Members in the order in which they signed up (again, all Members will be notified by email when their account is authorized for Viewbar download).

Multiple Users on One Viewbar:As stated previously, multiple Members may use the same Viewbar on the same computer. Only one Viewbar download will be necessary as the Viewbar software will enable each Member to log in and log out using their AGLOCO Member ID# and password (obviously, only one Member ID# can be accumulating Viewbar hours at any one time).Initial Launch for Windows: The initial Viewbar release will be for Windows Vista, XP, and 2000. Later, we will release Mac and Linux versions of the Viewbar. Until that occurs, Mac/Linux users can still log onto any supported Windows computer and accumulate their five hours. Hopefully, five hours a month (about 10 minutes a day on average) on a Windows-based computer can be manageable until the Mac version can be released.

Seamless Updates:The v1.0 Viewbar is purposely simplistic and minimalist, but it also comes equipped with an automatic self-updating feature. Once you download the Viewbar for the first time, your Viewbar will be seamlessly updated with new additions and features as they become available.Revenue and Ad Deals: As a member of the revenue team, I am happy to report that we now have agreements with 17 ad networks. These agreements plus some direct advertising deals provide AGLOCO with thousands of advertisers with thousands of ads for the Viewbar software. Also, AGLOCO had a record day of new Member signups yesterday – just wanted to thank all for you who have been supporting AGLOCO with your continued recruiting efforts.

We’re about to launch! I am very excited, I hope you are too.

10. How Do AGLOCO Makes Money?

Did you know how AGLOCO makes money for its members? AGLOCO makes money for its Members in many ways:

Search: Every time you use the Viewbar™ to do an Internet search, AGLOCO earns money from the search engine providers. (For example, Google pays as much as $0.10 on average for each search that is directed to its search engine.)

Advertising: The Viewbar™ itself displays ads that are targeted based upon the websites you’re visiting. When you click on an ad and make a purchase, AGLOCO receives a referral fee, which we pass on to our Members. (Please note: Individual members do not receive any compensation for clicking on ads in the Viewbar™, and the Viewbar™ can detect if someone is clicking ads in a fraudulent manner.)

Transaction commissions: Many major retailers pay commissions when you refer customers who make a purchase. AGLOCO collects that commission and passes it on to our members. (For example, Amazon pays an 8.5% commission to most websites who refer customers, and has cut deals for even larger percentages. The bigger the AGLOCO community, the better commission we can negotiate for our Members.)

Software distribution: Numerous software companies pay websites to encourage the download of new software releases (for example, Adobe’s Flash and Acrobat Reader software), and trial versions of new programs. AGLOCO members not only get access to the latest and coolest software, they get paid for it.

Service distribution: Many online service providers will look to the AGLOCO community as a source of new and active users for their services. (For example, eBay, Skype, and PayPal, among others, all pay fees to people who help them recruit new active users to their services)

Product distribution: When Members agree to use a product, such as cell phones, high-tech gadgets, office supplies, new credit cards or financial services, AGLOCO can collect referral fees. Some companies even offer special rebate and cash-back programs.

9. The Internet's First Economic Network

Today’s hottest Internet businesses are all about the power of social networks. Companies like MySpace, Facebook, and YouTube have become worth billions because businesses have realized that these social networks are generating huge advertising and marketing opportunities. As these social networks grow, the economic potential for its owners – and the advertisers who target the site’s users – is remarkable.

At AGLOCO, we asked a simple question: The users created the community, where’s their share of the profit?
It was from this question that AGLOCO set out to create the Internet’s first Economic Network, harnessing the power of Internet-based social networks to directly benefit the Members who help to create the community.
Becoming a member of AGLOCO is as simple as completing a brief sign-up page (name, age, location and email address.). Once you’re a Member, you will be asked to then download the Viewbar™ software. (Note: the Viewbar™ software is currently unavailable, as it is in closed testing. It will be ready for public download in a few weeks, and members will be notified when it is available.)
